Stanford Law Students for Climate Action (SLSCA)

Stanford Law Students for Climate Action (SLSCA) is a chapter of Law Students for Climate Accountability (LSCA), which aspires to move legal ethics and practice toward a just transition for our climate, in solidarity with frontline communities, and to build an equitable and sustainable world within our lifetimes. Through research and organizing, LSCA brings to light the massive role that many law firms have played in the expansion of fossil fuels, protecting the fossil fuel industry from litigation, and weakening environment policies that cut into industry profit.

SLSCA works to provide SLS students with resources on firms’ climate work and with tools for employment choices. Through our Low-Carbon Lawyering event series, SLSCA is also organizing discussions on the various ways in which the climate crisis is affecting the legal field, and on the different paths and strategies lawyers can take to address the climate crisis.
