Michelle Wilde Anderson discusses her new book “The Fight to Save the Town: Reimagining Discarded America” on Marketplace

Michelle Wilde Anderson, Larry Kramer Professor of Law, was awarded the 2023 Zócalo Public Square Book Prize for The Fight to Save the Town: Reimagining Discarded America, her 2022 book that explores the dismantling and rebuilding of local government in high-poverty communities. Zócalo, an Arizona State University Media project focused on public discourse and examining essential societal questions, awards the $10,000 prize annually to “the nonfiction book that most enhances our understanding of community and the forces that strengthen or undermine human connectedness and social cohesion.” SL
