I have had the honor of working with Professor Merryman in my role as the Managing Editor of the “International Journal of Cultural Property” and the pleasure of meeting with him in Stanford. I am delighted to hear that he has received the 2011 ARCA Award for Lifetime Achievement in Defense of Art.

I am thrilled to learn about Professor Merryman’s award. Professor Merryman’s class on Art & the Law taught me about the important role of the law in fostering and protecting creativity and continues to inspire me to this day.
