In this episode, Pam Karlan discusses the Supreme Court’s historic June 15 LGBTQ+ equality decision in which it ruled that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which bars sex discrimination in employment, covers employees who are expressly gay or transgender and protects them from being fired because of their sexual identity. Pam argued the case before the Court on October 8, and was part of a team representing Donald Zarda’s estate. Zarda, a skydiving instructor, said he was fired because he was gay.
