Stanford Tax Law Association (STLA)

Mission

The Stanford Tax Law Association (STLA) is dedicated to fostering a dynamic academic and professional community for students interested in tax law. We aim to promote an in-depth understanding and thoughtful discussion of both foundational and emerging tax law and policy issues. Through guest lectures, panels, workshops, and collaborative research projects, STLA equips students with the knowledge and resources needed to excel in the tax field while also exploring the broader societal impacts of taxation.

The Stanford community will benefit from this organization by gaining access to a platform for interdisciplinary learning, peer-to-peer mentorship, international experience, and professional development. STLA connects students with leading professionals, alumni, and academic experts in the tax world, providing networking opportunities and fostering deeper engagement with the challenges and prospects in modern tax law. Through these efforts, we aim to cultivate future leaders who can navigate the complexities of tax law and its role in shaping business and public policy. Our ultimate goal is to build a long-lasting community of Stanford tax law enthusiasts!
