Law School Non-Profit Aquires Lawyer Metrics

Monday, Access Group, a non-profit comprised of about 200 law schools, announced that it has acquired Lawyer Metrics, a legal data business founded by professors William Henderson and Christopher Zorn, writes Casey Sullivan at Bloomberg BNA Big Law Business.
“Henderson, who studies the legal profession, teaches law at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, while Zorn teaches political science and law at Pennsylvania State University.”
Zorn will operate as a special advisor to Access Group within Lawyer Metrics; Henderson will remain on the faculty and teach one semester per year, the two told Sullivan.
“The Access Group provides financial education services and resources for students and schools,” wrote Debra Cassens Weiss on Monday on the ABA

Journal Law Schools blog. “It also founded a research center with these priorities: to understand the barriers that impede access to law school for underrepresented groups, to identify strategies that increase law-school affordability, and to determine the value of legal education beyond graduates’ short-term employment and earnings outcomes.”
