Nicole Black, an attorney and legal tech evangelist at MyCase, profiles CodeX Fellow Nehal Madhani‘s Alt Legal startup (previously Plainlegal) on Bloomberg Big Law Business. Black’s essay, “Perspective: Legal Tech Startup Spotlight —Alt Legal,” addresses how the startup has evolved since its 2013 launch.

As the company grew, it became a different company, explained Madhani to the CodeX blog.  The company renamed its product, which started as “Plainlegal” and is now Alt Legal.

The goal of the company today “is to streamline the management of IP filings [by] assisting companies and attorneys with the creation and docketing of IP filings, by identifying, tracking and managing IP filings,” wrote Black.
