Justine van der Leun is an award-winning independent journalist and the author, most recently, of Unreasonable Women: Three Stories of Violence, Imprisonment, and Extraordinary Survival, which chronicles three women who are incarcerated for acts related to surviving abuse. Justine also hosts and co-produces the investigative podcast Believe Her. During this moderated discussion, Justine will be in conversation with Stanford Law School Professor David Sklansky to identify the legal issues related to criminalized survival cases and opportunities for reform.
