SLS Open Access

Exclusive after-hours law library privileges for SLS students

As an SLS student, you have exclusive access to the Robert Crown Law Library after it closes to the broader Stanford community until it reopens the next day. Check our Hours Page for the current schedule.

The library is typically available 24/7 for law students, with some expected closures during summer and winter breaks (posted on our Hours Page). In rare cases, we may need to close unexpectedly for safety or security reasons.

Good news: the Borrowing Services Desk stays open for an extra two hours after the library closes, just for SLS students. We’re here to help so please feel free to stop by if you have any questions.

CHECK OUR HOURS

Making the Most of Your After-Hours Access

Please help keep our space secure by not letting others follow you in through the second-floor entrance. This protects everyone's safety and preserves our law-student-only environment.

Remember to keep your belongings with you when moving around within and/or temporarily leaving the law library. This helps keep seats available for everyone and ensures you won't lose access to your items if we have an emergency closure.

We Value Your Input

Your feedback helps us improve!

Share your thoughts at the Borrowing Services Desk while it's open, or anytime through our Virtual Suggestion Box.
