Monographs may be charged out for one month. Hardbound journals and pamphlets circulate out of the library for one day or longer to a carrel. The Course Reserve collection circulates for 2 hours. If you are unable to locate a book, please bring the call letters to the Circulation Desk for assistance; staff there can tell you which carrel the material is in or can initiate a recall or search. The Library uses an automated circulation system and all patrons who want to borrow will need a barcoded ID card.
The First Floor serves as the main entrance to the library. The Circulation desk, Reference desk, student computers and conference rooms (SLS only) are located on this floor. Collections on the first floor include federal materials, Vrooman popular reading titles, and specialty collections. Course reserves and permanent reserves are located behind the Circulation desk.
The Second Floor is a 24/7 quiet study space that houses in-library use only materials (Stacks-2 items) including the Eyles Aisle collection. The “Teaming Room” on this floor provides scanning, printing, and faxing for SLS affiliates. After-hours access to the second floor is limited to SLS students, faculty, and staff.
The Basement houses the majority of the Law Library’s browsable print collection, including folios.
The Locked-Stacks is a closed stack space that houses selected print materials and the Law Library’s microform collection. Since the materials in this location are not open stacks, please visit the Circulation Desk on the first floor to have items paged.
