Project Sites

Canvas supports and facilitates the creation of project sites. Project sites are non-academic course sites which are not linked to official class rosters. Use project sites for project management, tenure tracking, committee work, etc.

Canvas Mobile

Canvas is available on mobile apps. Visit the App store on your tablet or phone and install the Canvas Teacher App: iOS version and Android version

Below is a list of the tools that have been approved for wide use in Canvas at Stanford:

Ed Discussion – Q&A-style discussion
Gradescope – Grading homework or exams
Harmonize – discussions
Hyposthes.is – Collaborative annotation tool
iClicker – Classroom polling
Panopto – Video capture and streaming, called Panopto Course Videos in Canvas
Poll Everywhere – Classroom polling
Redirect – Adding links to external web sites to course navigation bar
Slack – Instant group communication
Zoom – Video and web conferencing tool
