The SCJC organizes a 13-week workshop for Prison University Project students and graduates at San Quentin prison. Nine SLS and Stanford graduate students took part in the course in the winter/spring 2015 term. The theme of the 2015 winter/spring policy practicum course was “Mind the Gap: Exploring Selected Areas of American Inequality.” Each SLS student has the opportunity to conceive of and facilitate one two-hour class discussion. Funding for this course to cover travel expenses for the Stanford students to the prison is provided by the Vice Provost of Graduate Education.
