Ho, MacCoun, Persily Receive Grants for AI-Related Ideas

Three SLS professors were members of separate interdisciplinary research teams honored with grant money from the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. Daniel Ho, William Benjamin Scott and Luna M. Scott Professor of Law; Robert MacCoun, James and Patricia Kowal Professor of Law; and Nathaniel Persily, JD ’98, James B. McClatchy Professor of Law, were members of teams that “proposed innovative, bold ideas pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence.” The Hoffman-Yee Grants, which totaled $2.75 million for the winning six teams, were designed to fund “moonshot” ideas that could transform scientific, technical, or societal challenges in the field of artificial intelligence.
