Climate and Energy Policy Program

The Climate and Energy Policy Program (CEPP) provides insights driving an equitable, resilient, and effective transition to clean energy and sustainable food systems. CEPP operates at the interface of policy analysis, academic research and education, and stakeholder engagement. CEPP is a program of the Woods Institute for the Environment at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, in partnership with the Environmental Law and Natural Resources Program at Stanford Law School.

Additional Related Programs at Stanford University

Drawing on scholars from other parts of the University, the ENRLP program has broadened its reach and enriched our students’ interdisciplinary experience.

For example, researchers at Stanford’s Water in the West have led multiple policy labs at the law school on lessons learned from the current California drought and water planning in the state. The Climate and Energy Policy Program, a joint initiative between the Law School and the Woods Institute for the Environment, regularly leads policy labs focused on wildfire policy, the energy transition, and sustainable food systems. In addition, experts at the Center for Oceans Solutions continues to work with law students to tackle ocean conservation issues. The opening of the Doerr School of Sustainability, in which many of these initiatives and centers reside, has further enabled cross-disciplinary research, teaching and collaboration.
