Artificial Intelligence along with a variety of other technologies have launched marked advances in the rapidly burgeoning field of autonomous vehicles. With these technological leaps come a vast array of legal, policy, and regulatory questions. Come to this event to hear Mark Rosekind (Chief Safety Innovation Officer of Zoox and former Administrator of NHTSA) and Chris Gerdes (Director of the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford) as panelists moderated by Bryan Casey (CARS Fellow). Discussion topics will include the legal and regulatory challenges facing AV innovation, the AV Start Act and Self Drive Act, success stories involving collaboration between governments and auto companies, and a discussion of the benefits that widespread AV deployments pose for transportation vulnerable populations (e.g. individuals with disabilities, elderly populations, rural communities, etc.). Lunch will be provided.
