In response to high levels of corruption, Kosovo has put into place a “Strategy on Rule of Law” for the period of 2021 to 2026, which aims to identify shortcomings related to the rule of law with the aim of tackling those issues during that five-year period. As part of this, Kosovo has proposed to conduct a vetting process to evaluate judges, and to install a permanent performance evaluation system. However, it has not yet been implemented, and its success is ultimately to be determined.
