Race & Society

As America grapples with persistent racial divisions and polarization, institutions across government, business, and education are implementing, evaluating, and sometimes abandoning initiatives aimed at reshaping the role of race in society.

The Center for Racial Justice provides research-based analysis of the intensifying legal and policy debate between colorblind approaches–as exemplified by the Supreme Court’s ruling against affirmative action–and race-conscious strategies that continue to develop in various forms. Our work examines both the theoretical underpinnings and practical implementations of these competing frameworks, offering perspectives that help inform public understanding of these challenging issues.
